Michael Pinsky is working with Gillespies Urban Design on the redevelopment of the centre of Darlington. He has proposed a number of artistic interventions and influenced the design process.
The central core of Darlington has an amazingly diverse set of buildings that represent all periods in architecture from the 1700’s to the present day. These buildings will be lit chronologically to emphasis these archtitectural developments. Through the duration of an evening each period of architecture would have its moment of glory. Buildings that would normally be marginalised, those with a simple everyday façade or those built in the last forty years, will have their opportunity to influence the townscape.
