Art on the Riverside is probably the largest programme of public art in the UK – when completed, more that 100 works will have been sited adjacent to the Rivers Tyne and Wear. Art on Metro, managed by Nexus, is a significant programme of public art commissions located throughout the Tyne & Wear light transport system. As part of both programmes, this major project will create a permanent contemporary artwork for the public space between Wallsend Metro station and Segendunum Roman Fort which marks the end of Hadrian’s Wall.
