A new landmark building recalling the enormous influence of Marconi on Chelmsford throughout the 20th Century. The building is a mixed-use restaurant and entertainment centre. A fully functioning 1937 Zenith six-valve radio provides public entertainment broadcasts during the evening whilst providing a high quality restaurant experience throughout the day. Access to the building is from the rear, with limited car parking for staff and a storage shed for spare valves. The development is intended to strengthen the important evening leisure economy of the West End.
The phasing of the traffic lights at the intersection between Broomfield Road and Duke Street will be altered to allow drivers and cyclists a longer time to enjoy the visual and aural qualities of this building.
