Fidget
Fidget was a playful pop-up carousel where visitors could engage in quirky activities to discover the impact of moderate movement on their health. The installation featured six distinct modules, each containing a piece of furniture and a TV, where short films could only be viewed if participants performed light exercises. The experience began on the green piste, allowing visitors to relax on a sofa while using a remote control, gradually progressing to more active tasks like cycling through animations. The final challenge, the black piste, had participants hanging upside down within a domestic scene.
As they moved through each station, participants’ “fidget line” was broadcast from the top of the carousel, visually representing their activity. Colour-coded levels guided the experience, and interlocutors were on hand to explain the science of fidgeting, ensuring participants understood the benefits of even small bursts of physical activity.
