L’eau Qui Dort

L’eau Qui Dort unveils the forgotten, jettisoned objects lying beneath the surface of the Ourcq Canal, which over time have acquired the haunting appearance of aquatic relics. Forty of these spectral items, including bicycles, shopping trolleys, signs, and fridges, rise upright from the water, illuminated in an ethereal aquamarine glow. Their unexpected re-emergence confronts their former owners, serving as a poignant reminder that society’s relentless pursuit of the new often necessitates the erasure of the old. An eerie composition, generated from these objects, emanates from spaces around the canal, forming an intricate three-dimensional soundscape.
