Lost & Found

In the Darmstadt forest, objects once lost in Darmstadter Wald were suspended from trees, only visible through binoculars installed atop Ludwigshöhe Tower. The collection of these forgotten items and their placement in the forest had been publicised in Darmstadt’s leading newspaper, along with makeshift posters mimicking the low-quality photocopies often used to announce the loss of a beloved pet or a cherished wedding ring.

Visitors hoping to reclaim an object were required to undergo a thorough, filmed interview to determine whether the artefact rightfully belonged to them, adding an element of scrutiny and intrigue to the process of recovery.
