Linking with issue 128 of Urban Design and bringing together eminent practitioners and artists in the field of public art, this event wil look at the innovative ways in which places can be enlivened and enriched by creative design artistry.

  • Introcuction and overview of the recent journal issue from topic editor and UDG patronLindsey Whitelaw
  • Michael Pinsky – British artist who explores the issues that shape and influence use of the public realm in the combined roles of artist, urban planner, activist, researcher, and resident.
  • Peter Fink – Urban designer, artist and founding partner of FoRM Associates with responsibilty for urban and art focused regeneration projects. Peter has played a leading role in strategic projects focusing on green urbanism, drawing upon an unusual background in Engineering, Philosophy and Visual Arts.
  • Jacqui Poncelet – Moving on from early prominence on the international ceramics scene during the 1970s and 80s, Jacqui has since diversified into painting, sculpture and a variety of public art commissions, including ‘Wrapper’ cladding the new building and perimetrer wall next to Edgware Road tube station.
